Linking to Jira and sharing records

Connect records to the Jira work items that deliver them, see the customer on the work item, and send a colleague straight to a record.

Linking a record to a work item#

Leads, contacts, companies and deals have a Jira work item field. Type a key such as PROJ-123 and save.

The app checks the item as you: it must exist and you must be allowed to see it. The record then shows the item's summary and status next to the key, read live from Jira as the person viewing the card, so Jira's permissions apply.

The CRM panel on a work item#

Every Jira work item has a CRM panel in its details sidebar. Expand it to see the deals, contacts, companies and leads linked to that work item, with the deal's stage and amount or the contact's company and email. Click a name to open its card in the CRM.

Links and unlinks are recorded on the record's timeline.

Searching work items by CRM data#

Linked work items carry four read-only fields that JQL, filters and boards can use. See Finding work items with JQL.

My CRM follow-ups gadget#

Add the My CRM follow-ups gadget to a Jira dashboard: Edit the dashboard, then Add gadget. It lists your open CRM tasks and the next steps of the deals you own that are overdue, due today or due in the next 7 days. Click one to open it in the CRM, or press Done to complete a task. Each person sees their own.

Sharing records#

Every record card has its own web address. When you open a card, the address in your browser changes to point at it, and changes back when you close it. Copy it from the address bar and paste it into a Jira comment, an email or a chat message; whoever opens it (and has access to the app) lands directly on the same record.

The address carries the record's id in a parameter named for its section: selectedDealId, selectedLeadId, selectedContactId, selectedCompanyId, selectedProductId or selectedTaskId.

If you open a link to a record that has since been deleted, the app opens normally and there is no card to show.
