Leads

Capture prospects, rate and assign them, work them on a board or in a table, and convert the good ones into deals.

Add a lead#

Open Leads and press Create Lead. Only the name is required. The rest helps you decide whom to call first:

FieldWhat it is for
StatusNew, Contacted, Qualified, Converted or Lost.
RatingHot, Warm or Cold: how likely the lead is to buy.
SourceWhere it came from: Web, Referral, Advertisement, Trade Show, Cold Call, Partner or Other. Reports use it to show which sources convert.
AssigneeWho is responsible. Leads with no assignee can be found with the Unassigned filter.
Contact and companyLink to an existing contact or company, or just type the names.
Email, phoneChecked for a sensible format. Two leads (or contacts) cannot share one email address.
Jira work itemOptional. See Linking to Jira.
Custom fieldsAny fields your administrator added.

A lead can also carry products, the things the prospect asked about. They carry over when you convert.

Board and table#

Switch between Table and Kanban with the buttons above the list. The board has a column per status: drag a card to another column to change its status. Each column shows its first 25 cards and says how many more there are. The table has sortable columns (click a heading) and the same quick filters as everywhere: see Search, filters and saved views. The tiles above the list, such as My Leads and Unassigned, are filters too.

Converting a lead#

Open the lead and press Convert to Deal, then confirm. The app:

The lead's card then shows the Converted deal, and you can open it from there.

Losing a lead#

Set the status to Lost, or drag the card to that column, and choose a reason: Unqualified, No Response, Not Interested, Duplicate, Wrong Contact or Other. Reports count lost leads by reason, so a vague "Other" is a missed chance to learn something.
